About Me

Based in Australia and have loved GT-Rs since I was about 12. I first found out about GT-Rs from Gran Turismo (of course), and then by the time high school hit, I was watching VHS converted videos on YouTube from Japan. This was back when YouTube was relatively new and so being able to see content from another country, in a language I couldn't understand, and about a car that I had only really experienced in Gran Turismo was a big deal. The whole 'street drag GT-R' theme was the main type of cars in the videos, and focused on big turbos, big power and a clutch that operated essentially as an on/off switch. Modifying cars back then was very different to now with the amount of compromises you had to make to get to that sort of level. They had so much power and sounded amazing! Young me was over the moon.

Fast forward several years later and I'm on the hunt for my dream car; a 1994 Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R V-Spec II (or V-Spec if one happened to come up for sale). I searched Australia wide and also had incorporated the services of an import broker to look in Japan for me. But in the end, I found myself in a position to purchase a R32 GT-R V-Spec II in white locally. The deal was made and suddenly I was now the owner of my dream car! The first drive was everything that I had imagined...and more!

That was 12 years ago. And a lot of driving, road trips, a bit of track work, taking the car apart, replacing worn parts/components and also a bit of modifying has happened during that time. I've even travelled to Japan multiple times because of this car and the great friends I've made along the way. It's been a dream come true to own it, and I still get a smile out of it every time I drive it. It's hard to mimic the feeling of owning and driving a GT-R.

So where does this blog come in? Well, I've learnt A LOT about these types of cars over the years, particularly about how they work, failure points, fixing them, differences between models, and just in general about the overall maintenance to keep them on the road. My goal with the blog is to share this sort of knowledge with the wider GT-R community, in the hopes that I can help others either learn about GT-Rs, and/or about how to keep theirs on the road well into the future. And I want to learn more about them too.

It's also worth noting given the age we're in that everything on this blog has been written by me (or some other human if it gets to that), and not AI. Everything would have been researched by me or has come from my own experiences while working on, owning and driving this car.
